Alice B. Walck

WHEATFIELD — Alice B. Walck (Retzlaff), age 87, of Wheatfield, was called peacefully to her heavenly home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 16, 2012, at her residence.  Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on July 22, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lilly (Pfuhl) Retzlaff. Alice attended St. Peter's Lutheran School in Walmore and was a 1943 graduate of LaSalle High School. She was employed at the former Bell Aircraft and later at the Carborundum Company-Bonded Abrasives Division in Niagara Falls, until her retirement in 1983. Alice was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, where she volunteered her talents in quilting with the other ladies of the church. Alice was also a member of the Ransomville Seniors and enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling and cherished spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her brother, Kenneth (Dianne) Retzlaff of Wheatfield; sister-in-law, Lois Retzlaff; eight nieces and nephews, Debra (Ted) Sheehan, Brian (Sandra) Retzlaff, Gary Retzlaff, Randy Retzlaff, Sandra (Steven) Lange, Carol (Leonard) Binns, David (Allison) Retzlaff and Dale (Lisa) Retzlaff; 20 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Walck, on December 1, 1994;  they were united in marriage on February 5, 1972; and a brother, Willis Retzlaff.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz), in       Wheatfield on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Gamache' on Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
