Rev. Keith E. Terry

SANBORN — Rev. Keith E. Terry, of Sanborn, NY, went home to be with the Lord that he loved on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at his residence, under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice.

He was born in Sayre, PA, on March 7, 1933, the son of the late Delbert V. and Ruth B. (Romans) Terry.

Mr. Terry graduated from Vestal High School and from the Eastern Bible Institute (now known as Valley Forge Christian College).

He was the founding pastor of what is now called the New Life Worship Center in Barrie, VT, the Assemblies of God Church in both Keene and Claremont, NH, before coming to the Lewiston Assembly of God Church in 1977.

Mr. Terry became the Administrative Assistant with the New York District Assemblies of God from 1989 until 1999. He also served as the Youth and Christian Education Director for the Northern New England District of Assemblies of God.

Mr. Terry enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great- grandchildren, gardening, and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeannette K. (VanValkenburg) Terry; they were married on June 19, 1954; two sons, Keith R. (Danielle) Terry of Carthage, NY; and Kevin D. (Brad White) Terry of Buffalo, NY; two daughters. Linda R.H. (late Charles) Chaney of Carthage, NY; and Melody Joy (Joel) Wilkins of Youngstown, NY; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, John, Amy, Andrew, Alison, Rebecca and Patricia; five great-grandchildren, Abby, Ethan, Raiden, MacKenzie and Roman; also one brother, Stephen E. Terry; two sisters, Olive E. Ray and Barbara R. Terry; a sister-in-law, Susan Terry; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Delbert V. Terry, Jr.

The family will be present on  Wednesday  from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev.  Jim Armpriester officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the First Assembly of God,  Missions Funds, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY  14304. Interment in Plainmont Cemetery, East Montpelier, VT.
