John H. Newton

NIAGARA FALLS — John H. Newton, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, on September 3, 1929, the son of the late George H. and Margaret M. (Wardrop) Newton. He was employed with Moore Business Forms, Nitec and with Niagara Falls Coach Lines for over 50 years, before retiring in 2009. Mr. Newton enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of his dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris J. (Hill) Newton; three daughters, Joanne (Henry) Wisniewski of Niagara on the Lake, Janet (late Rick) Wakefield, of Millington, TN and Judy (Willie) Pawlowsky of Roseneath, ON; a sister, Violet (Stanley) Fetter of Wingham, ON; a brother-in-law, Paul Cormier. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved Chloe. Mr. Newton was the brother of the late Margaret Cormier.

Private funeral services will held at the wishes of his family. Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY  14094. Inurnment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
