Billy R. Gilbert

LOCKPORT — Billy R. Gilbert, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in      Niagara Hospice House. He was 63.

He was born in Welch, WV on June 19, 1949, the son of Lois (Arnold) Gilbert Luciano and the late Logan Gilbert, Jr.

Billy worked for the former Union Carbide Company in various positions for ten years, until the plants' closing. In most recent years, he worked for Monteagle Ridge Estates. He was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing. An avid Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan, Billy also was involved in recreational sports, bowling on several leagues at Frontier Lanes in Lewiston and playing softball.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Kelley Reynolds and William Gilbert, both of Niagara Falls; siblings, Sharon Shakarjian, Linda Cantera (Anthony) of Niagara Falls, Larry Gilbert (Donna) of Royalton, NY, Donna Perrier (Serge) of the Town of Niagara, Ronald Gilbert, Ken Gilbert and Lisa Rowland, all of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Chelsea Reynolds and William Gilbert; 14 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Nick Luciano; his sister, Carole D'Anna and a nephew, Michael Berds.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo      Avenue, Niagara Falls. Private funeral services and interment will be held on Saturday.
