Joseph D. Incorvia, 81, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Ignazio and Anna (Rufrano) Incorvia.
Joseph was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls, NY area. He attended local schools including Niagara Falls High School. During the Korean War he served in the United States Army Field Artillery as a gunner, and was stationed in Japan with the First Calvary Division. Afterwards, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve until his honorable discharge on May 26, 1960. On September 4, 1975, Joseph married Nancy A. (Denney) Incorvia in Niagara Falls, NY. He was employed as a millwright at Occidental Chemical Co., formerly Hooker Chemical Co, in Niagara Falls for twenty-five years, and retired in 1995. Prior to that Joseph owned and operated a bakery shop, Jet Donuts in Tonawanda, NY, for twelve years. Following his retirement, Joseph enjoyed keeping busy working in the bakery department of Tops Supermarkets in the Town of Niagara.
Joseph had a variety of interests which included pistol and target shooting, gunsmith work, western movies, horses, fishing, weight lifting, working in his yard and fixing things. But more than anything, Joseph enjoyed a good old fashioned conversation. He was a member of the Niagara County Sportsman's Club in Lewiston, NY; the Y.M.C.A. in Niagara Falls, NY and the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his wife of thirty-seven years, Joseph is survived by one daughter, Ann Marie (Arthur William) Wait of the Town of Niagara, NY; three grandchildren, Joseph, Deanna and Alesha Wait; one sister, Nancy Vitaro of Scottsdale, AZ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1st from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where a funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
