Helen L. Connell

ADRIAN, MI —  

Helen L. Connell, age 85, of Adrian, MI, died on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at ProMedica Bixby Hospital. She was born on May 21, 1927 in Youngstown, NY to George and Clara (Ullrich) King.
She graduated from the Youngstown High School of Youngstown, NY. She had been employed by Ye Ole Fort Inn in Youngstown, NY and the Lewiston-Porter Central Schools in Youngstown. Helen was retired from Adrian State Bank, where she had been employed from 1970-1987. She loved to travel, abroad and on cruises, her favorite place being in Florida with her cousin, Marion. She enjoyed reading, going to the movies, and attending performances at the Croswell Opera House.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Karen (Jim) Wimple of Adrian; a brother, Bill King of  Coneville, PA; and a cousin, Marion Jackson of Youngstown, NY and Florida; and her extended family and special friends. In addition to her husbands, Frank Fuller and Walter Connell, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jim Fuller; a brother, Art King; and two sisters-in-law, Henrietta King and Grace King, to which she was caregiver to all.
At her request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian with Sue Sieler, OMC officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston, NY at a later date. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian on Saturday from 10-11:15 AM, to be followed by the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Croswell Opera House. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
