Ruth Etta Dawson


Ruth Etta Dawson was born on September 9, 1929 in Dozier, AL to the late Edd and Lela Florence. She departed this life on April 23, 2013 at the Williamsville Suburban Healthcare Facility in Williamsville, NY.
Ruth relocated to Niagara Falls in 1952. She was employed at several local hospitals throughout her career. She also worked at the Niagara Falls Air Base for a number of years. Ruth was an avid bowler. She enjoyed fishing, made the best pound cake ever and loved to dance. She could still do the "Hucklebuck."
She is survived by one son, Charles Edward Dawson of Ransomville, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Eddie B. Dawson; parents; and sister, Annie M. Cauley; and brother Garvin Florence, Sr.
Family will receive friends at 11:00 AM on Monday in the New Hope Baptist Church, 1122 Buffalo Ave. Memorial services will begin at 11:30 AM. Arrangements by WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME, 635 Main Street.
