Peter Barile

BUFFALO — Peter Barile, 76, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Macchiagodena, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Maria Barile and step-son of the late Carmella Barile.

Peter was raised and educated in Italy. On May 23, 1957, he married Jennie (Colozza) Barile, and in 1960 immigrated to the United States, settling in the Niagara Falls area. For 38 years, Peter worked in construction for various local contractors as a member of Laborers Local 91 in Niagara Falls, until his retirement in 1998. Peter was also a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society in Niagara Falls. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting and gardening.  Above all, Peter's family will remember him for his generosity and love.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, Mr. Barile is survived by two children, Mary (John)  Cordaro and Frank Barile, both of North Tonawanda, NY; two grandchildren, Brandon Cordaro and Jennifer Cordaro; a sister, Antoinette of Italy; his sister-in-law, Rose Basso of Niagara Falls, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA  FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Wednesday, March 27th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
