Mamie L. Hetrick

LEWISTON — Mamie L. Hetrick, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.

She  was born in DuBois, PA, on June 5, 1921, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Frantz.

Mamie moved to Niagara Falls, in 1943. She was employed with Niagara Wallpaper, where she met her husband of 66 years, also Chisholm Ryder and at Kimberly Clark for several years.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Town of Niagara Seniors, TOPS Club and  Niagara Senior Care. Mamie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed doing  ceramics.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin E. Hetrick, Sr.; they were married on December 17, 1946; three sons, Mark E. Hetrick and Melvin E. (Denise) Hetrick, Jr., both of Niagara Falls, NY, and Michael E. (Antoinette) Hetrick of Goldsboro, NC; six grandchildren, Melvin III, Dana, Melissa, Michael, Amy and Mark; one great-grandson, Jimmy; a sister, Grace. She is also survived by  many nieces and nephews. Mamie was the mother of the late William E. Hetrick; sister of the late John and Carl Frantz, Aldine Cassale, Gladys and Janice.

The family will be present on Monday from 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERALHOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Matthew Kofahl officiating. Memorials may be made in her name to Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery,  Lewiston, NY.
