Rose "Rosie" Elliott


Rose "Rosie" (Cool) Elliott, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Sunday, June 29, 2014 in Niagara Rehabilitation Center. She was 96. She was on born in Newmanscove, Newfoundland, Canada on August 22, 1917, the daughter of Samuel and Annie Bertha (Edmonds) Cool. She immigrated to Ellis Island, moving to Brooklyn in 1942, when she married Isaac Elliott. Together they settled in Niagara Falls in 1943.
Mrs. Elliott worked as a baker for the former Paul's Pies in Niagara Falls and as a cook for Louie's Restaurant, Vanadium Steel and ran the Pine Laundromat in the 1960's and 1970's. She was an over 50-year member of the First Assembly of God Church. She had a soft spot for animals, loved to cook and take care of her family and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Isaac, in 1992. Survivors include two sons, Bradford Elliott (Nancy) of South Euclid, OH and Donald Elliott (Kathy) of Niagara Falls; three grandchildren, Daniel James (Stephanie) Elliott of Brooklyn, Donald Isaac Elliott of Niagara Falls and Gabriel Christian (Karrie) of Green Castle, PA; great-grandchildren, Isaac Daniel and Maggie Rose. She was predeceased by siblings, Fanny, Edith, Emily, Annie Jane, Doris, Reginold John and Cora.
Friends may call Saturday after 10 AM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
