NIAGARA FALLS —
Raffaela Maria (nee Fontanarosa) Frisina, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Raffaela was born in Introdacqua, Italy, June 13, 1920 to Pietro and Maria (nee Chiorri) Fontanarosa.
A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, Raffaela graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On May 24, 1941, Raffaela married Arcangelo Louis Frisina at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Raffaela was predeceased by her husband Arcangelo and her firstborn son Francis Peter Frisina. Raffaela worked at Moore Business Forms, June 22, 1950 through retirement on February 3, 1977, also volunteered her services at Memorial Hospital for 10 years. Raffaela's favorite pastime was being an avid Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees fan. Bingo was a weekly outing to the LaSalle Senior Citizen Center and the John Duke Center. Raffaela loved crocheting, knitting, garage sale hunting, and visiting with friends, cooking and especially making her "famous" pies. Raffaela supported several veterans associations with her generous gifts and goodwill. For many years, Raffaela had a devotion to the Holy Rosary. She loved and cherished spending time with her family and especially with the grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Raffaela is survived by three children, daughter, Kathleen B. (the late Robert Jasinski) Frisina of Niagara Falls, NY, Cynthia Frisina (James) DiPrampero of Millsboro, PA; a son, Franklin Peter (Joanne) Frisina of New City, NY; eight grandchildren, Justine and Koren Jasinski of Niagara Falls. Francis Peter Frisina of Millsboro, PA, Joelle (Kenneth) Andersen of Mount Kisco, NY, Adrienne (Christopher) Marino of Sparkill, NY, Donna (Michael) Price of Congers, NY, Leigh Ann Frisina (fiance Gregory Voegler) of New City, NY and the late Andrea Lynn Frisina; also ten great-grandchildren. Raffaela is survived by Albert and Guido; sister-in-law, Nevia Fontanarosa. Raffaela is predeceased by her parents; step-brother, Ennio Fontanarosa; step-sisters, Mary Gullo (Samuel) and Ella Grizante (Cosmo); her sister, Emily Fontanarosa Penque (Joseph). Her brother, Gino Fontanarosa (Mary), Guido (twin of Albert).
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Ave. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 AM from Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. Rev. Stewart Lindsay officiating. Please assemble at Church.
