KENMORE — Larry E. Meister, 76, of Grand Island, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Born on September 13, 1936 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Orpha (Henderson) Meister.

Mr. Meister, for the early part of his life, lived in Kenmore, NY, where he attended schools and graduated from Kenmore High School. Later, Larry graduated from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Electrical Engineering. On August 20, 1966, he married the former Barbara A. Redline.  She predeceased him on February 7, 2000. Following their marriage, Larry and Barbara moved to Grand Island, where he resided until his passing. Upon graduating from the University at Buffalo, Mr. Meister began his career at Bell Aerospace, working as an Electrical Engineer, until his retirement in the late 1990s. Larry was a       longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island, NY.

Mr. Meister is survived by one daughter, Julie Estenoz of Grand Island, NY, and was predeceased by an infant daughter, Amy Elizabeth Meister.  Larry is also survived by two grandsons, Ian and Simon Estenoz; four nieces and his beloved dog, Sydney.

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, March 8th from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon, with Rev. Larry Baird officiating. Interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, 499 Franklin Street, Buffalo, NY 14202.
