Michael Francis DeLong

NIAGARA FALLS — Michael Francis DeLong, July 20, 2013, with his family at his side. Born October 1, 1949 in  Marcellus, NY, he was a son of the late John Howard and Rose Ellen (Conlin) DeLong.

He attended local schools in Niagara Falls then graduated in 1967, after which he entered the United States Navy and became a SEABEE.

Michael worked with his dad at St. Stephen's in Grand Island, worked as a delivery driver for Lindsey News, and retired from the Niagara Falls Police Department 1989.

He met and married Linda (VanEpps) in 1965 and had two daughters, Rose-lin (Kent) Davis, Ransomville, NY; Kellie Ann DeLong of FL. He met and married Arlene Jane (Hansen) in 1984 and had a son, Christopher Michael (Amber) DeLong of Niagara Falls.

Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, drinking, golf, and bingo. He also liked to tinker, go garaging, spend time with family and go to camp.

A lifetime member of St. Mary's of the Cataract and Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, the LaSalle Sportsman's Club and the John J. Welch Post 381.

Besides his children, he is survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Also survived by nine siblings, Kathleen (Royal) Berg of Kitchener;     Rosemary (Dan) Rankin of Hamilton; Patricia (Claude) Lessard of Niagara Falls; Bridget Miller of Niagara Falls; Maureen Rankin of Brampton; Dennis (Victoria) DeLong of Niagara Falls; Shawn (Susan) DeLong of Niagara Falls; Brian (Lorna) DeLong of Niagara Falls; and Kerry(Shelly)DeLong of Niagara Falls.

Services will be held at St. Mary's of the Cataract on August 3, 2013, at 10 AM. Memorial     contributions are to the PKU Network, of which Michael and Arlene were instrumental.          Arrangements by Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson.
