Elizabeth "Betty" Nixdorf

NIAGARA FALLS — Elizabeth "Betty" (McKenzie) Nixdorf, of Niagara Falls, died on Sunday, July 21, 2013 in      Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Niagara Falls on June 14, 1938, the   daughter of Ritchel and Irene (Garrow) McKenzie.

Mrs. Nixdorf worked for General Motors at the Tonawanda Chevrolet Plant for several years in  assembly. Her love was antiques. She shared her love with others opening Bobbetts Antique Shop in Pennsylvania, which she operated for several years. She specialized in making new pieces of jewelry out of old vintage pieces. Along with her husband, she enjoyed fishing, bowling, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Sarhal) Maksiak of Niagara Falls; Donna (Sarhal) Beck (William) of Lake Charles, LA; Kathleen Kaufmann (Kraig) of Paxton, IL; her brother, Robert McKenzie of Niagara Falls; brother-in-law, Roger Nevison (late Shirley) of Niagara Falls; two grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Beck of Baton Rouge, LA and William Eldridge Beck, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA; and two nieces, Sharon (Nevison) Rybarczyk and Lorraine Nevison Coffey. Her husband, Robert William Nixdorf, predeceased her in March of 2006.

Friends may call Thursday from 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo      Avenue, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 AM.  The interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
