NORTH TONAWANDA —
Lucille Jackson, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, in Northgate Manor, North Tonawanda, NY.
She was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on September 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Cephas and Mary (Prince) Jones.
Mrs. Jackson came to Niagara Falls in 1949, where she was employed with various restaurants in the city. For over 25 years she was a lunch aide for the Niagara Falls Board of Education, before retiring in 2010. She was a foster mother for many children growing up in Niagara Falls over the years.
Mrs. Jackson enjoyed tending to her garden, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member at New Jerusalem Revival Church.
Mrs. Jackson was the wife of the Louis Jackson, who passed away in 1975.
She is survived by five sons, Johnnie (Gloria) Hudson, Delmar Jackson, Baron (Donna) Jackson, Verquan Jackson and Lloyd Jackson; two daughters, Doris (James) Parks and Lyria Coleman, all of Niagara Falls, NY; two sisters, Nancy Lee Spencer and Mary Jane Martin; her dear friend, Ida Elder; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jackson was the mother of the late Robert Hudson, Jr.; the grandmother of the late James Lee Nelson; sister of the late Magnolin Spencer, Henry, David and Cleveland Jones.
The family will be present on Saturday from 9-10:00 AM at the New Jerusalem Revival Center, 2723-20th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY. Arrangements were made through the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.
