Sharon Jean Baker

SACRAMENTO, CA — Sharon Jean (Lederhouse) Baker, born February 8, 1944 in Youngstown, NY, passed away February 12, 2013, at the age of 69, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.

Sharon leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Alan G. Baker, retired US Air Force. Greatly missed by her son, Bryan Baker and wife, Jennifer. Forever remembered by her grandson, Colby Baker; along with her brother, William Lederhouse of Hilton, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Jean Lederhouse and father, Raymond Elton Lederhouse. Sharon went to high school at Lewiston-Porter High School in Lewiston, NY. She received her bachelor's degree at the State University of New York at Geneseo and her master's degree at the University of Buffalo.

Sharon taught Math at Bella Vista High School from 1972 until she retired in 2001, and then went on to teach Math at Sacramento State from 2001 to 2012. She was an active church member throughout the years and loved the Lord with all her heart. Sharon was deeply involved in middle school through college level track meets, running the finish line at the meets for the last 15 years. She was loved by family and friends and will be forever missed.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 2:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 4000 San Juan Avenue, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Kaiser Hospice, 2025 Morris Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95825 (memo: Sharon Baker).
