Biagio M. "Bill" Capicotto

BUFFALO — Biagio M. "Bill" Capicotto, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Nicola and Adeline (Critelli) Capicotto.

Bill attended local schools and was employed for over 30 years at the Carborundum Company in Niagara Falls until his retirement. On June 16, 1951, he married Grace M. (Biamonte) Capicotto in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Mrs. Capicotto predeceased him on August 6, 2012. Bill was an avid sportsman and in his younger years particularly enjoyed hunting and target shooting.

Mr. Capicotto is survived by his three children, Dr. William N. (Elizabeth) Capicotto of Orchard Park, NY; Lydia M. Capicotto of Detroit, MI, and Dr. Peter N. (Linda) Capicotto of Webster, NY; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas Capicotto, Christopher Capicotto, Kate Capicotto, Enzo Capicotto, Lea (Jeffrey) Sayles, Tara Crisanti, Brandon Capicotto, Laura Capicotto, Michael Capicotto, Lydia Capicotto and Elizabeth Capicotto; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Sayles and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Ida (late Joseph "Pep") Choppolla and Mary (Joseph of Niagara Falls, NY) Santoro.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 3-6 PM and on Sunday from 2-6 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Monday, February 24th at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228.
