Diane R. "Dinky" Custo

LEWISTON —

Diane R. "Dinky" (nee Collins) Custo, 69, of Lewiston, NY, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY, following a lengthy illness. Born on December 9, 1944 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clarence 'Chet' and Clara Norine "Nini" (Connor) Collins.
Diane attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1963. Throughout her career, she was employed by Carborundum, Occidental Chemical Corporation, Rich Products, Merchants Mutual Insurance Company, First Federal Bank and HSBC Bank. Diane enjoyed traveling and reading. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her fiance' and longtime companion, Peter J. Blersch of Lewiston, NY; one son, Eric J. "Ric" (Melinda) Custo, Jr. of Lewiston, NY; and five grandchildren, Jocelyn, Emma, Sedona, Parker and Audrey. She is also survived by one brother, Norman (Debbie Dzjamski) Collins of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister, Sandra of Texas and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by her former spouse, Eric J. Custo, Sr.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, February 20th from 3-7 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where a funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 PM with Deacon Patrick Bradley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or to the American Lung Association, 555 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
