Andrea Hagerty

GRAND ISLAND — Andrea (Rykiel) Hagerty, 64, of Grand Island, NY, passed away after a long illness. Born            August 9, 1949 to the late Stanley and Helen (Wodo) Rykiel. Andrea attended Our Lady of Rosary School, Madonna High School and Niagara University. She began her teaching career at the former St. Joseph's Parochial School in Niagara Falls in 1972. In 1973 she started teaching social studies at School #19 in Buffalo, ending her teaching career in the 1990s at Grover Cleveland High School in Buffalo, retiring due to illness.

She is survived by a brother, Mark (Sandra) Rykiel of Lewiston; sister, Cynthia (John) Rybicki; beloved niece Ashley, all of Niagara Falls, and several cousins.

There is NO PRIOR visitation. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.                  Arrangements entrusted to ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC.
