Michael Joseph Quinn, 65, of Spencerport, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Sunday, June 23, 2013, while surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous battle against cancer with dignity and strength. Born on April 26, 1948 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, Michael was the son of the late Frank and Muriel (McGovern) Quinn.
Michael came to the United States, with his family, at the age of six. He spent the rest of his formative years in Niagara Falls, NY. Michael graduated from the former Bishop Duffy High School as well as Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. He proudly served in the United States Navy, aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Intrepid as a computer operator, during the Vietnam War, until his honorable discharge on July 31, 1974. Michael married the former Linda Dojka, in Holy Trinity Church, on January 19, 1973 and they later made their home in Spencerport, NY. He continued his career in Information Technology in the Rochester area for the next thirty-five years. Michael especially enjoyed the art of photography, a variety of music with Brazilian Jazz, a favorite, loved to travel, was a great cook and took pride in his home and gardens. He served on the board of the Spencerport Credit Union for thirteen years.  Michael had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his Irish wit.
In addition to his devoted wife of forty years, Michael is survived by his special cousins, Kathleen Randall, Tim Giesenhoff and Tricia (Wayne) Bleich; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen Dojka, Mary Martha (Steve) Evert, Fred (Cindy) Dojka, Anthony Dojka and John (Maria) Dojka; nieces, Marcy Cox and Elissa Dojka; a nephew, Ryan Dojka and a great-niece and great-nephew, Stephanie and Seth Cox. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 4-7 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) and on Saturday from 10:00-11:30 AM in the Historic Holy Trinity Church, 1419 Falls Street Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a  memorial service which will be celebrated, following visitation, at 11:30 AM in the church, with Rev. Jacek Mazur serving as celebrant. Prayers of committal and burial will follow, concluding with Military Honors, in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Historic Holy Trinity Preservation, 1419 Falls Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
