NIAGARA FALLS —
Rose Marie (Malvestuto) George, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Nunziata (Rannali) Malvestuto.
Rose was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On May 23, 1948, she married Ellis S. "Leo" George at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. George predeceased her on August 16, 2006.
Rose was a beautician by trade but also worked at Harrison Radiator, a division of General Motors, in Lockport, NY for thirty years until retiring. She was a loving mother and grandmother and an avid fan of the N.Y. Yankees, the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills.
Rose will be sadly missed by her seven children, Jan (Carl) Raybon of Niagara Falls, NY, Margo (Bill) Jones of Wheatfield, NY, Leo (Sharon) George of Vero Beach, FL, Debra (Bob) Miller of Chesterfield, MI, Cynthia (Pete) Kaczowski of Niagara Falls, NY, Albert (DiAnne) George of Wheatfield, NY, and Nancy (Dave) James of Lewiston, NY; nineteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Victor Malvestuto of Niagara Falls, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by nine siblings, Viola (late Vincent) Gigliotti, Lucy (late Guy) Colangelo, Dominick Malvestuto, Martha (late Charles) Amato, Helen (late Anthony) Munzi, Sam (Mary of Niagara Falls, NY) Malvestuto, James (Frances of Niagara Falls, NY) Malvestuto, Albert Malvestuto and Lillian Zimmerman.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 24th, at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240.
