Carole L. DuVal


Carole L. (Hockaday) DuVal, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Elderwood Health Care at Riverwood on Grand Island. She was 77. She was born in Niagara Falls on February 4, 1936, a daughter of the late Roy and Pearl (Carlisle) Hockaday. She attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle Jr./Sr. High School.
Mrs. DuVal worked for many years at Carborundum as a multi lift operator, retiring in the mid 1980s. She enjoyed her involvement with the Girl Scouts, the Order of the Eastern Star Triangle, camping, bingo and attending Buffalo Bills games.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Wilfred E. "Jerry" DuVal; seven children, Jerald DuVal, Lawrence R. (Ginny Moorhouse) DuVal, Mary Elizabeth (John) D'Angelo, Terry (Richard) Downs, Lisa Scarfone, Denise (Billy) Hickey and Tracie (Michael) Yarger; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:15 AM with Deacon David Slish officiating. Entombment will be in the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in the Town of Lewiston. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made in Mrs. DuVal's name to the Huntington's Disease Society of Upstate N.Y., P.O. Box 25237, Rochester, NY 14625.
