Robert John Pembleton

LOCKPORT — Robert John Pembleton passed away Friday, July 5, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls on December 14, 1939, he was the son of the late John and Mary Kathleen (Maracle) Pembleton. Robert worked as an ironworker out of the Local #9 Union in Niagara Falls for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed traveling and especially spending time with his family. Robert was a native of the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 18 years, Ramona (nee Lazore) Pembleton and the late Arlene J. Pembleton; father of Jamie Pembleton, Helen (Tim) Hout, Debra Zimmerman, Sonya Volt and the late Robert J. Pembleton; step-father of Dawn Lazore, Cody and Raelynn. Robert is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Sanford (Maggie) Pembleton, Russell (Nancy) Pembleton, Elias Pembleton, Wesley Pembleton, Lesley Fish, Jimmy Fish, Peter Johnson, Ace Johnson, Carmen Foxworth, Carol (Butch) Savie, Betty (Marley) Parks, Judy Gibbons, Dale (Dan) Davis, Rinnette Raso, Madeline Gallow, Kathy (Dick) Maslen and the late Gloria Conway, Tone Pembleton, Kale Pembleton, Conrad Pembleton and Alfred Fish.

Friends may call Tuesday, July 9th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 AM. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.
