Joan J. Murdock

NORTH TONAWANDA — Joan J. Murdock (nee Bryan), age 83, North Tonawanda, Sunday, March 3, 2013, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and had worked as a former cafeteria worker at Durez.

She was the wife of the late Alexander Murdock III, who died in 1999. Beloved mother of Vicki L. Turner of North Tonawanda and the late Gary Murdock. Grandmother of Carl (Cara)      Turner, Jr., Michael (fiancee' Cathy Shepard) Turner, Kelly (Joe) Evans, Justin, Alex and Ryan Murdock. Great-grandmother of Devin Turner, Emma Turner and Alexander Turner, Joey, Nathaniel and Savannah Evans. Sister of Jean Bentley, Esther Starr and the late Magdeline Bates, Lena Rotter, Elva Miller, Dorothy Richards, Eleanor Starcher, Jack Bryan, Arthur Smith, Norman Smith. Aunt of Leslie (Kirk) Weaver of Charlotte, NC and Jeff (Gale) Miller of Williamsville, and many other nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM. The Rev. Gregory Crispell will officiate. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Wyndham Lawn Home for Children, 6395 Old Niagara Rd., Lockport, NY 14094.
