Geraldine P. McDonald

NIAGARA FALLS — Geraldine P. McDonald (nee Fruscione) on Friday, March 1, 2013, surrounded by the love and support of family and friends, and the care of Niagara Hospice, daughter of the late Sam and Mary (Canaley) Fruscione, the beloved wife of 54 years, Leo J. McDonald, passed on to be with Our Heavenly Father. Dear mother of Michael (Rosalie) McDonald, Leo (Cindy) McDonald and Mary Jo (Roland) Eutsler; devoted grandmother of Michele, Michael Jr. and Megan McDonald, and Riley Eutsler. She is also survived by a loving brother, Sam (Carol) Fruscione and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gerry was retired from the Niagara Falls Board of Education, a longtime parishioner of St. John de LaSalle Church in Niagara Falls, NY, a member of their Rosary and Altar Society, and a devout follower of The Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Therese of Lisieux, The Little Flower.

She most enjoyed being with her family, both at home and on vacation. On Sunday afternoons she could be found preparing a family dinner with special attention paid to the wants and needs of her grandchildren, whom she loved immensely. She and her husband enjoyed traveling together and spent many years in Florida during the winter season. She also enjoyed the company of her friends, camping, playing cards and bingo.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Sunday, March 3rd between the hours of 3-8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, on Monday, March 4th at 10:30 AM, with with Rev. Slawomir Siok and  Rev. Joseph Rogliano officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Father Baker Victory Services in Lackawanna, NY, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Arrangements were made under the care and guidance of John Colucci from the M.J. Colucci Funeral Chapel.
