HENDERSON, NV —
Darcy A. Stevens (nee Gansworth) of Henderson, NV, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2013 with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 15, 1955 the daughter of the late John W. and Elizabeth (Johnson) Gansworth. She married Richard L. Stevens on March 2, 1973.
Darcy was gainfully employed by Coast Casinos for over thirty years. She was a member of the Onondaga Indian Tribe and grew up on the Tuscarora Indian Nation in Lewiston-Sanborn NY. Darcy had a passion for music, life and had a contagious laugh.
She is survived by her ever loving husband, Richard L. Stevens; a son, Jamie L. (Netanis) Stevens; a daughter, Correy L. Stevens; grandchildren, Hunter J. Merry-Stevens, Derek Stevens, Nickolas Angeletti, all of Henderson, NV; brother, John Gansworth of Niagara Falls, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Gansworth.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Tuscarora Baptist Church, 2088 Mt. Hope Rd., Sanborn, NY with Rev. Walter Printup officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Defenders of Wildlife, 1130 17th St. NW, Washington, DC 20036 (www.Defenders.org).
