Bernice T. Drinkwater


Bernice T. Drinkwater, of Lewiston, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on July 11, 1915, the daughter of the late  Rose (Hornacki) Tarnowski Perry and Thaddeus Tarnowski. Mrs. Drinkwater was known for her outgoing friendliness and humor, her love for color and her skill as a seamstress-designer. She was the wife of the late Victor Drinkwater, who died in 1982.
Mrs. Drinkwater is survived by one son, Roy (Janet) Drinkwater of Lititz, PA; two daughters, Doris (late George) Hampton of Lewiston, NY and Peggy (late Michael) Bird of Calabasas, CA; six grandchildren, Rosemary, George and Jane Hampton, Barbara Drinkwater, Russell and Michael Bird. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebrating her life will be held at a future date. Memorials may be made in her name to the Lutheran Church of the Messiah or to the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Company #1. Inurnment in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.
