Mary A. Marrone

NIAGARA FALLS —

Mary A. Marrone, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her residence while under the care of Niagara Hospice and her dear friend Carol Hill. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Concetta (Corvinelli) Marrone.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School and Kelly Business Institute. She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Buffalo State College. Mary began working in 1950 as a stenographer for the Niagara Gazette and afterwards as a stenographer and secretary at Hooker Chemical Company in Niagara Falls until her retirement in 1976. Following her retirement, Mary enjoyed volunteering for Niagara Oncology Associates and Recovery Group Inc. In her leisure time, Mary also enjoyed hiking, camping, reading, gardening and refinishing furniture.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Rose Mary Melone. She is survived by her nephew, Dr. Robert (Juanita Bosso) Melone of Apex, NC; as well as two great-nieces, Karyn (Tom) Mulligan and Kelli (Dr. David) Schaad; and two great-nephews, Rev. Dr. Robert (Jeanne) Melone and Tim (Lucinda) Melone.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21st from 10-11 AM at M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Dr. Robert Melone, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorials in Mary's memory may be made to Recovery Inc., 105 W. Adams Street, Suite 2940, Chicago, Ill 60603 or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
