Mother Willie Mae Adams


Mother Willie Mae Adams departed this life on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Schoellkopf Health Center Nursing Home. She was born on July 22, 1934 in Elba, AL (Coffee County) to the late Bud Ellis and Lizzie Ellis Head.
She graduated from Elba Colored High School. Mother Adams joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age, where she served faithfully until she moved to Niagara Falls, NY and always attended Bethlehem when she visited home. On September 8, 1956, she married the love of her life, Reverend Eddie D. Adams and moved as young couple to Niagara Falls, NY. She worked as beautician for many years. She was employed by the Niagara County Department of Social Services working with young adults with children and other positions for 30 years before retiring.
Mother Adams received Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 1957. She was member of New Jerusalem Revival Center Church where she worked faithfully filling varies church positions. When her husband was called into the ministry in the 1960's, she worked by his side at the Bread of Life Church in Buffalo, New York under Pastor Carl Brown.
In 1976, her husband founded the FULL GOSPEL DELIVERANCE CENTER CHURCH in Niagara Falls, NY and she became the first lady. One of her favorite scriptures was "Psalm 91". She was the church mother where she served faithfully until she was unable to do so.
Mother Adams leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 56 years, Reverend Eddie D. Adams; a loving son, Dwayne (Dawn) Adams of Fort Wayne, IN; a cherished granddaughter, Danielle (Victor) Adams Robinson of Mobile, AL; a dear sister, Alice Folmar of Elba, AL; and two sisters-in-law, Mother Juanita Braswell of Niagara Falls, NY and Mary Helen Folmar of Elba, AL; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Sager; one great-grandson, Semaj Olando Crutcher; and two brothers, John (Ben) Ezra Folmar and R.V. Folmar; and two sisters, Kary Nell Horstead and Nary Purvis.
Visitation on Thursday from 12-2 PM in the Full Gospel Deliverance Church, 1215 South Ave. Funeral Services from Coleman & Sowell Memorial Chapel in Elba, AL. Local Arrangements by WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME, 635 Main Street.
