Carl J. Noretski

NIAGARA FALLS —

Carl J. Noretski, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life, unexpectedly, on Monday, April 29, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane, NY. Born on August 15, 1930 in Fayetteville, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Reed) Novitsky.
Mr. Noretski attended schools in West Virginia and came to Niagara Falls, NY in the late 1950's. Carl proudly served in the United States Army, during the Korean War. For many years, he worked as a laborer for the New York State Power Authority.
Mr. Noretski is survived by his former spouse and good friend, Geneva Slaght of Sanborn, NY; two children, David Noretski and Patricia Hobbs, both of Sanborn, NY; four granddaughters, Melissa (Mark) Lock of Kenmore, NY, Kristy (Jimmy) Powell of Niagara Falls, NY, Kelli Hobbs of Niagara Falls, NY and Katie Hobbs of Niagara Falls, NY; and six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nathan, Evan, Sean, Landen and Lilyana. Carl is also survived by two sisters, Eva (late Delt) Harrah of Fayetteville, WV and Rose Ann Copen of Elkview, WV; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Charlie Novitsky and Joseph Novitsky; and one sister, Nellie Mae Mullins.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, May 4th from 3-6 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where a funeral service will follow visitation at 6:00 PM. Private burial will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
