NIAGARA FALLS —
Edward M. Cordasco, MD, January 13, 2013. Loving husband of Martha A. Cordasco; dear father of Martha Ann (Jerome) Cordasco Reaper, LISW, of Dayton, OH, and Edward Michael (Judy) Cordasco, Jr., DO, of Dublin, OH; grandfather of Samuel, Anna, Laura, Valerie and Christopher.
Dr. Cordasco graduated from Georgetown Medical School and finished his internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic before establishing a private practice in Niagara Falls, NY, and teaching at the University of Buffalo Medical School in Buffalo, NY for 20 years. He joined the Cleveland Clinic staff as a physician in pulmonary and critical care in 1975 to update the hospital's intensive care units. He practiced internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and environmental medicine.
Dr. Cordasco retired from Cleveland Clinic in June 1991, and joined a private group of physicians for several years until he retired as a physician.
He was First Lieutenant in the US Army, serving in Korea, where he staffed and dispensed behind the front lines. At the time of his honorable discharge, he was awarded several medals of honor.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls on Tuesday, August, 13, 2013, at 12:00 Noon. Private interment at the Western Reserve Veterans Cemetery in Rittman, OH will follow.
