Henrietta K. Bernat, Sr.


Henrietta K. (Oles) Bernat, Sr., 95, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at North Gate Nursing Home. Born on November 29, 1917 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Katherine (Malska) Oles and attended local schools. Henrietta was a homemaker, a life-long member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, and avid book reader and loved baking apple pies.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances (late Ronald) Lochocki of Tonawanda, NY; daughter in-law, Barbara Bernat, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Bernat, Sr.; and son, Stephen Bernat, Jr.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 29th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th. St. cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where services will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at Divine Mercy Parish, 24th and Niagara Sts., with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery Lewiston, NY. Donations in her memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
