Harold "Zeke" Confer

NIAGARA FALLS — Harold "Zeke" Confer, of Niagara Falls, died on Friday, August 24, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House. He was 67. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on July 26, 1945, the son of the late Walter and Mary (Halstead) Confer. He attended are schools, serving in the US Navy for three years earning the National Defense Service Medal.

Harold worked for various area businesses, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the American Legion LaSalle Post 1142 and the VFW Post 917. He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills games and playing horseshoes at the legion. He also was an active hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine A. (Holovics) Confer; his former wife and companion, Cathy Hager; his daughter, Michelle Amato of Niagara Falls; step-daughter, Katie (Brad) Bartolomei; sisters, Rose (Bill) Kay of CA, Joan (Gilbert) Walton, Roberta (James) Breeden; granddaughter, Emelie Belando; grandchildren, Tyler, Jayden and Kaleigh Bartolomei; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Robert, Walter and John Confer and Joyce Moss.

There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend memorial services on Sunday, September 9th at 1 PM at the American Legion LaSalle Post 1142, 8643 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. Interment will be private. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements by the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC.
