Delores Irene Smeal

LEWISTON —

Delores Irene (Sanchez) Smeal, a longtime resident of the area, died on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, following a brief illness. She was 77. She was born in Lovell, WY on August 31, 1936, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Crispin) Sanchez. She lived in Sacramento, CA, moving to Niagara Falls in 1957.
Mrs. Smeal worked for several department stores in the Niagara Falls area. She also worked for Modern Disposal as a dispatcher/secretary from which she retired. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed living in Youngstown on Lake Ontario, her church family at St. Bernard's RC Church and her German Shepherd, Dallas. 
Survivors include three children, Terry (Kathleen) Smeal of Niagara Falls; Cheryl Smeal of Youngstown and Scott Smeal of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Justin (Jamie) Gordon, Michael, Bryan (Lisa), Jake (Katie) and Jackie Smeal; great- grandchildren, Jaden, Kayleigh, Chase, Joey, Michael, Alyssa, Damen and Lincoln; siblings, Josie, Rosa, Anne, Moses, Don, Joseph and Millie.  She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Richard Smeal in April 2011; and a sister, Micky.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. Her funeral service will be held at 8 PM. The interment will be private. Delores was an organ donor.
