Grace M. Calvano

NIAGARA FALLS —

Grace M. (Tedesco) Calvano, 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 2, 2013 at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston, NY on All Souls Day, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Benedetta (Favatta) Tedesco. Grace was a resident of Niagara Falls until she and her husband moved to Grand Island twenty-five years ago.
Mrs. Calvano was predeceased by her husband John Calvano in 1991. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia and her husband, Savino Nanula of Grand Island, NY; two grandchildren, Dr. James John (Elizabeth) Mezhir of Coralville, Iowa and John Joseph (Jennifer) Mezhir of Grand Island, NY, five great-grandchildren, Malinee Grace Mezhir, Anjali Mary Mezhir, Kate Sophia Mezhir, Jack Michael Mezhir and Max Joseph Mezhir; her niece, Jeanette (late Carl) Gemmati; nephews, Tom (late Gloria) Etopio, and Philip (Cheryl) Valore; her beloved friend, Amy Lou Taylor; as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-8 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 6th at 10:00 AM at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Grace's memory may be made to St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14072.
