Florence C. Weis Mocniak

YOUNGSTOWN —

Florence C. Weis Mocniak, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. She was born in Medina, NY on July 6, 1920, a daughter of the late Martin and Jadwiga (Ogrysciak) Organisciak.
Mrs. Mocniak moved to Niagara Falls with her family in the 1920's. She attended Gaskill and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. She was employed at Woolworth's as a teenager and later became the manager of the catalog and hardware departments at Sears on Old Falls Street, for 10 years and at the former King's Store for 14 years before retiring in 1980. Mrs. Mocniak was devoted catholic, She enjoyed baking and will be remembered for her apple pies and her pastries. She was the wife of the late Walter Mocniak, who died in October of 2000 and the late John F. Weis, who died in July of 1966.
Mrs. Mocniak is survived by two sons, John G. (Kathleen) Weis of Rockville, MD and Patrick (Alexis) Weis of Lewiston, NY, a daughter, Mary Ann (Robert) Cubello of Youngstown, NY; five grandchildren, Carolyn, Jack, Leah, Alexandra and Janine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John (Veronica) Organisciak,  Leo (Pearl) Miller and Thomas (Edna) Miller, Christine (Adolph)  Maraszek, Mary (Herbert) Williams, Jessie (John) Chlebowski, Frances and Leona Organisciak and Esther (Louis) Zaidel.
The family will be present on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard's Church, Hinman and Second Streets, Youngstown, NY. Interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
