NIAGARA FALLS —
Bernard R. Swetts, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, husband of Joan M. (Bochnik) Swetts, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born on January 18, 1930 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late George and Rose (Rohy) Swetts, Sr.
Mr. Swetts attended schools in Pennsylvania and graduated from Wilkes University. Bernard proudly served in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He retired in the late 1990s from a career in Industrial Microbiology and Regulatory Affairs Consulting.
In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Swetts is survived by three daughters, Ann (Jim) Baer of Wheatfield, NY, Carol (Jean) Swetts of Ransomville, NY, and Jennifer Swetts of Niagara Falls, NY; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister and two brothers.
All funeral services and interment were private. Interment was held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Sisters of Social Service, 296 Summit Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14214.
