Helen Elizabeth Reeves

NIAGARA FALLS — On October 9, 2013, the Lord welcomed Helen Elizabeth (Betty) Reeves. She was the daughter of Edward and Arletta Walsh. Sister of the late Gerald (Barbara) Walsh.

On May 11, 1940, she married Durwood W. Reeves, who predeceased her on July 4, 1977.

Betty attended local schools and worked many years at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was also a nursery school teacher and volunteered at the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. Also, a proud member of the Eastern Star.

She was blessed with a wonderful son, Kim (Barbara) Reeves. Continued blessings with three grandchildren, Amanda (Joel) DiCesare, Elizabeth (Michael) O'Connor and Evan (Angela) Reeves. And warmed her heart with five great-grandchildren, Bailey, Reilly, Stella, Quinn and Rowan.

Betty also leaves behind loved ones who always considered her "Grandma." Pat and Gene Cantlon, Nancy, Dan Gary and Elliott Sims, Karen Harvey, Sharon and Victor Ketch, Melissa and Justin McCauley, Keith, Jennifer, Warren and Calvin Giles.

Clair, Nellie, Rebecca Harvey and Ashley Sims are among many who will welcome her into the Gates of Heaven.

Ever giving, Betty donated her body to the University of Buffalo Medical School.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of this lovely woman will be held on November 2, 2013, at 10:00 AM at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 616 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to St. Stephen's
