Gerald L. "Gerry" DiMeo

NIAGARA FALLS —

Gerald L. "Gerry" DiMeo, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. He was the son of the late Bererdino and Esther (Donatelli) DiMeo.
A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, Gerry attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1943. He received his Bachelor's Degree with honors in chemistry from Niagara University in Lewiston, NY. Gerry later attended Catholic University in Washington, DC. He worked as a staff chemist at Hooker Chemical/Occidental Chemical Company in Niagara Falls for over forty years and retired in 1990. Mr. DiMeo was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus #247 and honorary member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph Church, both in Niagara Falls, NY. He was also an avid sports fan, and enjoyed golfing.  Gerry also enjoyed listening to classical music, especially the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
In addition to his parents, Mr. DiMeo was predeceased by his sister, Leonora A. DiMeo. He is survived by cousins.
There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to assemble at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Monday, October 21st at 10:00 AM. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, 5285 Lewiston Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092. Arrangements by M.J.
