Josephine Yankelunas

NIAGARA FALLS —

Josephine (Beltrano) Yankelunas passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the Hospice Unit of Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 87 years old. Her husband of sixty-eight years, Albert Yankelunas, predeceased her on May 25, 2012. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Josephine was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Fiori) Beltrano.
Josephine was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. She was a wonderful homemaker and a great cook. Josephine enjoyed spending time with her family and her animals whom she loved very much.
Josephine is survived by her three children, Carol (Gary) Smith of Lewiston, NY, Robert (Filomena) Yankelunas of Youngstown, NY, Alan (Elizabeth) Yankelunas of Niagara Falls, NY, and was predeceased by two infant sons, Leonard and William Yankelunas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tammi (David) Lambert of Walworth, NY, Gary (Laura) Smith of Clarence Center, NY, Andrea (Cory) Rotella-Diez of Lewiston, NY and Patrick Yankelunas of Youngstown, NY; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Lydia) Beltrano of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Mary DiPasquale, Susan Asadoorian, Louise Beltrano; and one brother, Jim Beltrano.
There will be no prior visitation. A private memorial service and entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY will be held at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.  Arrangements by M.J.
