LOCKPORT — Eugene Sperduti, of Lockport, entered into rest Sunday, September 22, 2013, after a brief illness.

Born in Lockport on April 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Thomas and Josephine (Montepare) Sperduti.

Beloved husband of Bianca (Pagliei) Sperduti of 60 years. Beloved father of JoAnn (Paul) Cena, Patricia (Bruce) Perpetus, Gina (Robert) Pugh. Cherished grandfather of Kristine Salasavage, Joseph (Danielle) Salasavage, Joseph (Jessica) Cena, Robert Pugh, Jr. and Samuel Perpetus. Cherished great-grandfather of Justin Vullo, Anthony Salasavage and Cameron Cena. Predeceased by his brothers, Cornelius Sperduti, Henry Sperduti, Sr. and his sisters, Mary Fonzi, Victoria Heary and Laura Bruning. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews

He was a Korean War veteran and was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army stationed in Germany. Gene retired from the City of Lockport as a foreman with 41 years of service.

He was an active member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church where he served as       President of the Holy Name for more than 20 years.

Gene's favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren play sports. He was also a lifetime  member of the VFW and was an avid Bills and Sabres fan.

Friends may call from 4-9 PM on Tuesday at the Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, corner of Transit and Niagara Streets, where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at a time to be announced. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at All Saints Parish, 76 Church Street. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
