Kenneth E. "Ken" Dinger

LEWISTON — Kenneth E. "Ken" Dinger, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY, following a brief illness. Born on February 27, 1929 in North Freedom, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Grace (Brocious) Dinger.

Mr. Dinger attended schools in Pennsylvania. Ken, as he was known by family and friends, proudly served in the United States Air Force, during World War II. He came to Niagara Falls, NY in 1948. Mr. Dinger worked as a welder for Industrial Welding and later retired from E.I. DuPont. Ken served as Past-Grand Master of the Niagara River Mason Lodge #785. He was a member of the F. & A.M. Royal Masons #200, Niagara Frontier Country Club, the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club for over 50 years and the New York State Men's Bowling Association, where his team won the New York State Championship in 1973. Mr. Dinger loved his friends and family and the outdoors. In addition to bowling, Ken enjoyed archery, hunting and golfing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dinger was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine "Jean" (Campisano) Dinger on August 8, 2012; and by two brothers, Stanley and Melvin Dinger. Ken is survived by four siblings, Walter Dinger, Edward Dinger and Gladys Turner, all of Pennsylvania, and Eva Work of South Carolina; many nieces and nephews and longtime friends, Ed and Camille Freeman of Niagara Falls, NY.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a committal prayer service on Friday, April 26th at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Acacia Park Cemetery, 4215 Tonawanda Creek Rd., North Tonawanda, NY, with Rev. Pat Fleming officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).
