Roosevelt Coleman

NIAGARA FALLS — Roosevelt Coleman, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012, at his home. He was born in Shreveport, LA, on February 12, 1931, a son of the late Charles and Claria (Giles) Coleman.

Mr. Coleman moved to Niagara Falls in 1968. He was employed with the City of Niagara Falls from 1968, until retiring in 1997; and with Gross Plumbing for a number of years. Mr. Coleman was a faithful member of the Potter's House Church and loved spending time with his family, cooking and gardening.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Coleman Ards, Linda F. Coleman and Gracie Jean Coleman; seven sons, Roosevelt Coleman, Jr., Russell W. Coleman, Kenny Coleman, Rickey Washington, Dennis Washington, Lamont Streeter and William Crittenden Ruffin; two step-daughters, Doris A. Brewer and Priscilla Payne; one brother, Ollie Lee Sanders; a special niece, Pastenn Parks; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Coleman was the father of the late Lanerra M. Streeter; and brother of the late Mack Charles Terrel, Ozzie B. Sanders, Columbus Clinton, Joseph E. Clinton,  Patsy White, Climmie Bell-Ross and Minnie            Lee-Anderson.

The family will be present on Tuesday from 12-1:00 PM  at the Potter's House Christian Community Church, 723-7th Street, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
