NIAGARA FALLS —
William H. Walker, a.k.a. "Willie," 61, of Niagara Falls has rode on to Harley Heaven on February 4, 2013 after a hard battle with Esophageal Cancer. Born in Lockport, NY on September 14, 1951.
Willie is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Barbara A. (LaRocca) Walker; one daughter, Gillian A. Walker (Sinister); his father-in-law, Dr. Rocco L. LaRocca; and mother-in-law, the late Angela W. LaRocca; three step-sons, Rocco (Lisa), the late Carmen and Joel (Krissy) Muzzillo; five step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter.
Willie worked at Union Carbide Carbon Products as a machine operator for 9 years until they closed. He then worked for the N.F.B.O.E. Janitorial Staff for 7 years until suffering injuries on the job. He worked side by side with his wife as a licensed nail technician, tattoo artist and body piercer.
He was a longtime member and retired President of the Kingsmen Motorcycle Club, N.F. Chapter. He was also a member of the John Duke Woodcarvers and served as their secretary and treasurer for many years. An accomplished artist, carpenter, cook and pool shooter, he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved listening to the blues and doing crossword puzzles. A friend of Bill W. Willie was loved by all.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Malhotra and her staff at the Upper G.I. Clinic at Roswell Park Cancer Institute for taking care of Willie during his illness. Tank and Tammy Hayes for taking care of Roxy, Frank Banks and Lucia Spiritosanto for making the memorial ride and benefit arrangements and Kelli Alaimo and Laura Schiffmacher for setting up the memorial fund. And Anthony Cerrone, Pam and Jerry Mojeski for being so thoughtful and kind to Willie and his family during their time of need.
Predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Ruth Walker; and one brother, Donald Walker. Survived by one sister, Margaret Penque; two nieces and one great-niece.
There will be no formal funeral arrangements as Willie has donated his body to science. A memorial ride in his honor and service will be held June 9, 2013 by the Kingsmen Motorcycle Club at Dave's Last Chance Saloon with Rev. Dennis Browne officiating, along with soloist, Nick Zawacki. Ride commences at 12 noon, service to be held at 2:00 PM. A benefit with basket raffle and live music by Blackstar and JB Aaron will follow the service. A memorial fund has been set up at First Niagara Bank. Proceeds will go to help offset medical costs incurred during Willie's illness.
