Norma Ann Wachob

CLIFTON PARK — Norma Ann Lozina Wachob, 84, a beacon of light on all the lives that she touched, was taken to heaven following a courageous battle with cancer. The loving wife of the late George Wachob passed away at Ellis Hospital on January 31, 2013.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 19, 1928, she was the devoted daughter of the late Ivan and Mary Barbic Lozina. She married George Wachob and moved to Clifton Park, NY, where they raised their son, Dennis. Mrs. Wachob was an office administrator for Community Care Pediatricians for many years. She dedicated her life to working with children and was a committed member of her parish, St. Edward the Confessor. She was an active golf and bowling enthusiast.

Along with her husband, Norma was predeceased by her son, Dennis J. Wachob, on      December 25, 2011; and her sister, Mildred Kennedy.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Laura Lassiter, Lysa Wade, Valerie Cash and Elizabeth Wachob; her cherished great-grandchildren, Grace Lassiter, Jared, Kaydence and Benjamin Wade, Hailey and Jaden Cash. Norma leaves behind her brothers, Stanley, John, Robert and George Lozina; and also numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated February 4, 2013, at 12 Noon  at Saint Vincent de Paul Church, 1040 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norma's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund Rochester Chapter, 1200-A Scottsville Road, Suite 100, Rochester, NY 14624, in honor of Kaydence Wade.
