Edgar "Pete" Savard, Jr.

NIAGARA FALLS —  

Edgar "Pete" Savard, Jr., 87, passed away on the evening of January 14, 2013 surrounded by family at Niagara Hospice in Lockport, NY. He was born on February 4, 1925 to Edgar and Aldona Savard of Piercefield, NY.
He served in the United States Army and was deployed in Western Europe during World War II. After returning from overseas, he was married to Emmaline (Felvus) Savard on July 3, 1948. The two enjoyed 61 years of marriage before she passed away in November of 2009. Edgar worked and retired from Frontier Foundries in Niagara Falls. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and spending time with family. He can be remembered working in his garage, or relaxing on a summer night on his porch with Emmaline. Always willing to help a friend,neighbor, or relative; he will be remembered for all of the little things he did for others.
He is survived by his children, Edward (Janelle) Savard of Niagara Falls, and Kim (Perry) Novak of Bridgewater, NJ; grandchildren, Adam (Giuseppina) Savard, Cory (Tim) Savard, both of Niagara Falls, Todd (Kristin) Savard of Youngstown, Lynde (Lyle) Hewitt, Marla (Jeff) Williams, Patrick (Fran) Nowak, all of Lewiston, Joe Colangelo of Ann Arbor, MI, Alexis Novak and Jesse Novak both of Bridgewater, NJ. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren. Edgar is predeceased by his wife, Emmaline (Felvus) Savard; sisters, Julia Wagner and Doris Watson; daughters, Marlene (Pat) Nowak, and Sharon (Ron) Colangelo; and grandson, John Colangelo.
There will be no prior visitation, and services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY, 14094. Arrangements by LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC.
