Dorothy Chisholm

LOCKPORT — Dorothy (nee Stewart) Chisholm, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013, in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY, following a brief illness. Born on July 12, 1924, in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Doyle) Stewart.

Mrs. Chisholm was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. Dorothy attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1942. On April 15, 1950, she married Robert Chisholm in Niagara Falls, NY. He predeceased her in 1979. Mrs. Chisholm was one of the original members of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Church, which became St. Raphael's Parish, where Dorothy was currently a member.

Mrs. Chisholm is survived by two children, Paul (Cathy) Chisholm of Niagara Falls, NY and  Cynthia (Thomas) Canterbury of Niagara Falls, NY; six grandchildren, Jason (Christine) Chisholm of Wheatfield, NY, Justin Chisholm of Niagara Falls, NY, Neil (Kathryn) Canterbury of Niagara Falls, NY, Daniel Canterbury of Florida, Ian (Carla Chiarenza) Canterbury of Massachusetts, and Ilene (Ricardo Jiminez) Canterbury of Niagara Falls, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.

The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 16th, at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
