Bertha F. Pino

LEWISTON — Bertha F. (Pace) Pino, 92, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Our Lady of Peace      Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Mauro and Lena (Tedesco) Pace.

Bertha was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. On July 10, 1943, she married Albert V. Pino at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Pino predeceased her on June 29, 2011, shortly before their 68th wedding anniversary. At an early age, Bertha learned the trade of barbering from her father. She went on to become one of the first female barbers in the area during the late 1930s, and later on also worked as a beautician. For several years afterwards, Bertha worked as a sales associate at the former Jenss Department Store in Niagara Falls. Bertha and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida. She also enjoyed crafts, painting, shopping, dancing and music.  Above all, Bertha was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved and cherished the time spent with her family.

Mrs. Pino is survived by her three children, Vincent (Patricia) Pino of Ft. Myers, FL, Michael Pino of Tampa, FL, and Marylyn (Walter) Trzeciak of Lewiston, NY; five grandchildren, Vincent Pino, Mark (Susan) Pino, Carla Pino, Zachary Pino and Nathan Pino; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosalie (Carmen) Bongiovanni of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister-in-law of Dora (Gerardo) Franciosa of      Florida and James (late Pat) Pino of North Carolina. Bertha was also predeceased by one    sister, Betty Campanaro.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11th from 9:30-11:30 AM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Ste. 6, Williamsville, NY  14221.
