Martha Rowles

NIAGARA FALLS — Martha (Marcheschi) Rowles, 84 years old, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Schoellkopf Health Care Center. She was born on May 2, 1928 in Niagara Falls, the daughter of the late Pietro Marcheschi and Elda (Pera) Marcheschi Rajczak.

Martha attended local schools and was a graduate of Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. She worked as a secretary at the former Niagara Permanent Bank for 11 years; at Ironworkers Local #9 for 30 years and at Bricklayers Local #45 for 3 years. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and playing bingo. Martha was a member of St. Leo's Church where she served on the memorial luncheon committee and assisted at finance office at bingo on Saturday evenings.

Martha was predeceased by her husband, Robert Rowles, who passed away on September 16, 1993. She is survived by her cousins, Ronald (Judith) Pera of Youngstown, Kelly (Mary) Utnik, Wayne (Kathy) Jaruszawicus, both of Niagara Falls, Arlene (Gary) Banas of Honeye, NY, John Paul (Stella) Marcheschi and Mario (Maria) Marcheschi, both of San Mateo, CA. Predeceased by cousins, Richard Pera (Carol of Niagara Falls), and Edward Utnik (Marie of West End, NC).

Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo's, 2748 Military Road, with Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. Memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094; or to St. Leo's Church.
