NIAGARA FALLS —  

John A. Coney, Jr., of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013, in Sterling House of Niagara in the Town of Wheatfield. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on May 13, 1924, the son of the late John and Vincenza (Iannieri) Cornacchione Coney.
Mr. Coney attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. He served with the US Army, during World War II. Mr. Coney was employed with Vanadium and the Power Project before becoming the maintenance supervisor with the New York State Parks, for over 44 years, retiring in 2012.
He is survived by his brother, Carmen (Celia) Coney; one brother-in-law, Eugene Pontiere; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Coney was the brother of the late Frank (late Lena) Coney, Albert (late Josephine) Coney and Joseph Coney, Fanny (late Mike) Germele, Mary (late Stewart) Dellaree, Rose (late Edward) Konsek, Susie (late Bud) Seip and Virginia Pontiere.
The family will be present on Friday from 2-5 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM, with Deacon Gary C. Terrana officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined and memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Interment with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
